Antonín Mikš is Professor of Applied Physics. He is the memeber of the Applied Optics Group at CTU in Prague and former senior scientist at Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences.

Prof. Mikš has authored or coauthored over 200 journal and conference proceedings papers (more than 60 articles in peer-reviewed international journals) and he is author or co-author of four books and five textbooks several textbooks in various field of optics and applied physics. He has a long-time experience in basic and applied research. He is an author and co-author of numerous patents (twenty-one in the Czech Republic, one in USA). He was a chairman or a member of the scientific committee of thirteen international congresses and conferences. Currently he is a professor of applied physics at the Czech Technical University in Prague. He gives lectures in physics and optics in bachelor, master and PhD study programme at the university and he is a supervisor of several graduate students. In last five years he was a head of more than ten research projects both in basic and applied research.
