Oznámení o konání zkoušky – English for Civil Engineers and Architects – UNIcert II

 

V souladu se Zkušebním řádem Fakulty stavební ČVUT v Praze pro zkoušku UNIcert II tímto oznamujeme:

 

Termín a místo konání zkoušky:

Písemná část: 13. 9. 2023 v 9:00 hodin

Ústní část:      15. 9. 2023 v 8:30 hodin


Místo: Katedra jazyků Fakulty stavební ČVUT v Praze, Thákurova 7, Praha 6, místnost B 261


Poplatek: částka 2.500,– Kč bude vybírána proti příjmovému dokladu v hotovosti 20 minut před zahájením zkoušky v místnosti B 262 a.

Průběh zkoušky: zkouška se skládá ze dvou částí –  písemné a ústní


Písemná část: doba trvání 150 minut, 3 části:

  1. část: čtení s porozuměním s gramaticko-lexikální složkou (80 bodů/60minut)
  2. část: poslech s porozuměním                                                (40 bodů/30minut)
  3. část: esej (300 – 400 slov)                                                (80 bodů/60minut)

Pro úspěšné složení písemné části je nutné získat minimálně 119 bodů a zároveň dosáhnout minimálně 60% v jednotlivých částech. Studenti budou o výsledcích písemné zkoušky vyrozuměni emailem dne 13. 9. 2023.


Ústní část: K ústní části postupuje pouze student, který uspěl v části písemné. Na začátku si student vylosuje jedno téma, vycházející z následujících okruhů:

A) Sustainable Architecture and Engineering (Building performance, energy)

1) Architecture and Indoor Environment

· Indoor environment quality – current problems & possible solutions

· Residential buildings sustainable design – principles & examples, question of insulation

2) Renewable Sources of Energy and Alternative Materials

· Renewable and alternative sources of energy

· Off-grid houses – principles, solutions & examples

· Building materials in terms of sustainability – alternative and green materials; importance and longevity of materials

3) Urban Design, Town and Regional Planning

· Smart cities – principles & examples; water management

· Urban planning – heat islands and greenery; perception of architectural space

· Brownfields redevelopment

4) Building Services (also in terms of economics and management)

· Water management in buildings – current approaches and possibilities

· Smart solutions & technologies – possibilities & examples

· Economic impacts – initial costs, savings & examples

 

B) Civil Engineering – Structures and Technology  (building structures & construction technology)

5) Technologies and Innovations

· High rise buildings – structures, materials & construction process

· Innovative materials & technologies – 3D & 4D printing, permeable concrete, biomimetics etc.

6) Transportation Engineering

· Transportation Infrastructure – roads, railways, bridges, harbours, airports

· Use of concrete and steel in transportation engineering

· Reconstruction and maintenance of road and railway Structures

7) Hydraulic and Offshore Structures

· Dams and reservoirs – architecture, structure, materials

· Offshore structures – issues and examples (oil rigs, artificial islands, etc.)

· Sanitary engineering – issues and examples

 

C) Development of Architecture and Civil Engineering (The relationship between architecture and civil engineering – the architect and civil engineer)

8) History of Architecture

· History of masonry structures

· Concrete and Masonry Structures – vaults

· Most influential buildings of 19th & 20th century in terms of architectural and structural development

9) Restoration and Maintenance of Historical Buildings

· Historical buildings in the Czech Republic – renovation & maintenance, refurbishment & retrofitting (walls, roof, floors, openings, stairs)

10) Modern Technologies and Approaches (Economics and Management in Civil Engineering)

· Building information modelling (BIM)

· Virtual reality and laser scanning in civil engineering

11) Into the Future (Where is civil engineering heading?)

· Trends, technologies, approaches, construction methods and architectural conceptions

· Materials (masonry, concrete, timber, steel, glass, insulating materials)

· Possible future civil engineering problems

 

Na přípravu má student 20 minut, poté následuje 10minutový rozhovor nad vylosovaným tématem. Součástí zkoušky je také 10minutová prezentace vycházející z bakalářské, magisterské nebo doktorské práce kandidáta. Po prezentaci následuje krátká 10minutová rozprava. V rámci ústní zkoušky musí uchazeč získat minimálně 48 bodů z maximálního počtu 80 bodů.

Písemnou a ústní část zkoušky hodnotí všichni členové zkušební komise. Zkouška se považuje za úspěšně složenou, pokud závěrečné hodnocení není horší než E, a student zároveň uspěje v jednotlivých dílčích částech.
